What should I get my mom for mothers day?

Although I'll admit, I think mothers day is a little stupid, gifts and appreciation should be an everyday thing instead of on one specific day, I still want to get my mom a gift.

What should I get? Besides helping out with cleaning the house and such, since I already do that.
I'm planning on baking a cake and getting her a gift but I'm still stuck on what to bake and what type of gift to buy.
Any suggestions?

How to get money back from a gift card?

Me and my dad bought my mom a gift card from Nordstrom but little did we know she dosent really shop there or like the clothes there. The gift card contains 150$ and we went to customer service and they told us they couldn't give us the money back. Is there anyway we could get our money back from the gift card? Please help!

Tell mom:
Gift cards do not expire.
She can hold on to this to do some Christmas shopping.
Shopping for presents can start as early as next month.
There is no way to get the cash back from a gift card.
