gift for baby mother image
Rocio Ruiz
I want to know what are the gifts the baby and the mother get when they are discharged.
Answer
I haev never given birth at that hospital, but I have given birth four times. We were usually sent home with the cap the baby wore (you are supposed to leave the shirt/gown and blankets), a pacifier if you want, any remaining formula from the open case, any remaining diapers and wipes from the open packages, any remaining sanitary pads and such from the mother's maternity package, and a diaper bag supplied by a formula company with samples of formula and sometimes other small products (a Huggies diaper, a Playtext bottle, varies depending on which company and what partners have donated items to be included) as well as a lot of coupons. Other than that, we never got "gifts".

How many baby showers is it appropriate to have for the same baby?
Mazie
My sister-in-law is having her first baby. My mother-in-law threw her a baby shower 2 days ago and invited the entire family. It was a large shower. Today in the mail I received an invitation for another baby shower for her that is being thrown by a close friend who was in attendance at the first shower. I already bought a gift for the first shower. Do I have to get her another gift or even attend the 2nd shower?
Answer
No, you do not.
If people have more than one shower for the same baby it's generally because two totally different groups host one(i.e. one for family and another for coworkers). They shouldn't be inviting the same people over and over!
