gift for baby girl 3 years old image

We are having a baby shower for my sister next week. This will be her second son, her current son is 3 years old.
We are having Grandpa, my husband and my brother (I have 3 year old girl and brother has 2 year old boy) take the kids out during the shower.
We wanted to do something special for the "big brother" at the beginning of the shower, before they leave. Any ideas? We don't have much money left to get him gifts, but wanted something creative to involve him a little bit.
Answer
I think creating a "To Do" list for the big brother would be a great idea... get a notebook ... and at the beginning of the shower have everyone list off all the great things he will get to do as a big brother. Write one down on each page of the notebook and then have him decorate the pages with crayons, markers, cut-out from magazines or whatever is creative little heart can come up with, and have it be like a little scrap book that he will have to look back on (when his brother is old enough to irritate him) and see how excited he was and all the plans he made for the two of them.

My husband's mother never show's up to my little girl's birthday she is 3 years old she has other grand kid's and always show up to their birthdays and buy them gift's she even throw's her other grand kid's birthday parties and never show up to mine she even brought my baby Christmas present last how would you handle this?
Answer
You handle it by not focusing on it. In doing so, you will teach your daughter that we cannot control what other people do in life, but we can focus on what we *do* have and be thankful for it.
I never met my dad's parents. They never sent me so much as a birthday card. Oh well. I was extremely close to my mom's parents and when I think of Grandpa and Grandma, they are who I have all the great memories of. It didn't harm me in the slightest in life.
Wishing you well.
