Baby shower hostess gift?

My MIL and my mom are throwing my baby shower and i got them jewelry and a gift certificate. Should I give it to them in private or at the shower before I open my gifts?

i think you should do it privately this baby shower is a day for you to celebrate you being pregnant..

let people put all the attention on you ..

your MIL and MUM will both understand..

wait until after everyone's left and make a nice cuppa for you all and tell them thank you for all they have done today for you and your child..

give them aboth a kiss and cuddle...

My good friend offered to host a baby shower for me, and it's this Saturday... I'm trying to figure out what to get her as a way of saying thank you. I don't have a lot of time, so I can't get anything personalized or anything like that. We just moved here last July, so I haven't known her for very long to know all of her likes and dislikes. She is a Scentsy consultant (wickless candles) so I don't think candles or things like that would be of much use to her. Before here we lived in Turkey (military) and I have a few Turkish made rugs that I haven't used, so I thought about giving her one that would match her decor. Would that be an ok gift? I'd like to get her something else as well, I just don't know what. I've never done this, so I'm not sure what would be appropriate. Thanks in advance!

Oh! I wish I was giving you a shower! :-) I would totally love to have a rug from Turkey as a gift!

Would it be an "ok" gift? NO...it would be the most fabulous gift ever. I don't know why anything would be needed in addition but you might consider a pretty dish in the colors of the rug that would look nice near a lit candle since that's what she's into.
