Answer
Most creative.. a friend bought me a "Mommy Hospital Care" suitcase. It's a business her friend started.. this adorable suitcase had EVERYTHING in it that Mom and Baby will need in the hospital.. less my own personal clothing. It was awesome and I used almost everything in it.
Best gifts that got a lot of use:
Wipe Warmer.. my son loves getting his diaper changed with warm wipes.
A gift basket filled with.. diapers, wipes, toiletries, Mommy essentials, such as pads, epifoam, witch hazel, petroleum jelly, guaze, a nursing bra.. everything you need to take care of yourself and baby when you get home from the hospital.
My pump.. my Mom rushed out to buy this item 2 days after we came home from the hospital.. and my breasts got EXTREMELY ENGORGED.. my son wasn't perfect at latching yet and I needed them drained. A good pump is a must if you are planning on breastfeeding, especially if you are going back to work.
Sleepsacks.. my son has 4 of these wonderful wearable blankets.. I LOVE these.. they replace a blanket for sleeping
and greatly reduce the risk of SIDS.
Fisher Price Papasan Swing.. my son loved this as a newborn and still does.. he's 5 months old.
Baby Einstein Discover and Play Activity Center.. he started using this at 4 months and loves it.. of course, you don't need this item initially though.
We got a lot of gift cards, those also came in handy when we needed to simply restock on diapers and supplies.
I can't say I got the least of anything.. I had 3 showers, 1 was a co-ed shower because my husband and I work at the same company, and we got everything and then some.
Best Wishes!

Cute Simple Ideas for Baby Gift Box/Basket..?

Alright so my sister in law is pregnant with her first child..yay for her! :).. and has finally put her registry up.
I have already figured out what my husband and I will buy her, but I want to make her sort of like a gift basket/box.
Now I have some ideas in my head and from online, of course, but I wanted to know what sort of things others do.
Do you neatly put them in a decorated box or basket, and if so how do you decorate it & arrange everything.
I've never made an actual gift basket, I've always bought a thing or two and put it in a pretty gift bag.
This time I'm wanting to do a gift basket or box so I can stuff more in there.
Ideas are appreciated and websites/pix of boxes/baskets/ideas would be awesome too :)
Thanks so much!

I recommed you to browse this website where they give you ideas of what to put in a homemade baby gift basket and also give you tips and tricks how to make it and how to arrange everything.
It is always nice to go with a special theme, so if your sister in law has some favourite character such as 'Helly Kitty' or if she likes cats or ducks or owls (I think you get the idea) you could center your gift basket around this theme.
Use lots of ribbons to decorate and maybe also personalize the gift basket with wooden letters or simply add a door plate with baby's name. Choose a basket your sister in law can use later on to stack the diapers or take a Bumboo baby sitter and fill this up.
It's all explained in details and with photos here: http://www.best-baby-gifts.com/newborn-baby-gift-baskets.html

Oh, and if you feel comfortable to babysit, do not forget to add a babysitting coupon (booklet). This is the best gift ever (I am a mom of 3 and know what it means if you have a few minutes on your own when stressed out...).

Good luck, hope my tips helped.
