I want to visit my friend's wife and newly born baby at hospital? should I give them any gift there on this occasion?

Yes I think if you are going to go to the hospital you should bring a gift but most new mothers prefer to actually leave the visits until they are at home because the last thing you want to deal with when your tired and sore is 100 people.

I would like to make my nephew something for when he is born. I was thinking to a quilt but one that is embroidery. I have never done embroidery, cross stitch, nothing before but i have sewed before. I want something really cute that he can have for the rest of his life. Does anyone have any ideas? Should i get an embroidery kit and practice on something little or what? Please help.

my MIL made my son a bonnet out of an hanker chief. inside was a note. and i don't remember the hole saying but it was something about he is to give this gift to his wife on their wedding day because he once wore it upon his head.
it was very cute idea and it is now placed away waiting for the day he chooses a bride. (he is 2 LOL)
