My baby shower is being hosted at my Aunt's house, and everyone has put a lot of thought and work into it. I want to give everyone favors for coming to the shower and to thank them for everything. I want to give more than just candy or treats... Any ideas for something unique that shows some thought?

Long story made short: my mom single-handedly prevented me from having a baby shower during my pregnancy.
With the exception of my parents and one uncle, all my family lives out of state. My son is 8 months and still hasn't met anyone. I'm planning on visiting around early November. I've heard of people having showers after the baby's birth, but is this too much?

My aunt threw me a welcome baby brunch when my oldest was two months old. It was cool because everyone got to hold him. If you throw a meeting party of some sort, then it wouldn't hurt. If you throw it yourself, then i wouldn't do a registry or expect gifts.
