I need to make a Secret Santa gift this year for Christmas. I can only spend 5$ on materials, or whatever is in my house. I want it to be something awesome, so let me know some crazy elaborate ideas for homemade gifts.

Well, it's rather fun to make a "I-Spy" tube.
You take a hard bottle, beans or sand or something like that (people have even used like hair-mouse) and then place small items in there. Like a little baby from a baby-shower, or little Christmas ornaments you can find at any hobby store for tiny trees. Fill it so it's not quite full, so you can move it around and things will appear and disappear in the sand or whatever. Then glue the lid on so it can't accidentally empty. Make sure you make a list of what's in there.
The person now has something interesting on their desk or on their coffee table for people to look at. And it's not hard to make.

Having a new baby this year I want to make a Christmas to remember. I know she will not remember this but I want her to keep something special from 2010 so when she grows older she can look back and see how much she was loved. I love the idea of getting her something unique or making something involving her whole family. Please give me some original ideas! Thanks!

For my daughters first Christmas I bought her a musical box. It has a lot of detail and would break easy so even though she is now eight she doesn't actually know it's hers yet. I'll give it to her when I know I can trust her with it.
