I just found out that I am pregnant and the nurse told me that I was about 6 weeks. What are some good things I can do now that is good for me and the baby? Should I start taking vitamens? Are baths okay? What kind of things should I avoid?
Answer
Get a good book like "what to eat during pregnancy" & start a new diet full of fresh fruit and veggies,
i took Vitamin substitutes but this in no way should be your only source of vitamins and minerals- they should be a boost or a bonus ontop of an excellent diet.....
Drink lots of water (good but also aids in preventing stretch marks)
AND a big one is stay fit, look after your body by exercising regularly, pre-natal yoga and aqua aerobics and good ones to do. you have to remain fit for the birth and so you can cope through the last trimester-
lol, you dont want to be one of those pregnant ladies you cant do anything for herself & you need to be fit to better cope with labor-
The thing about Baths is confusing........
I did it, they say not to #1 belief is because water can enter the vagina and cause infection, which is bullcrap because your allowed to swim (its recommended you swim during the last trimester to prevent posterior position of baby) and yes, it has been proven that water does not get near the womb and case infection
#2 is the heat, this is why they say dont have spa's - My rule of thumb was havinng a bath slightly shallower so that my tummy wasnt entirely under water and having a 'warm' bath, not a hot one-
The heat causes your blood to pump faster & therefor increase the blood flow to the baby & they're unsure what this does BUT its better to be safe-
Avoid: Alcohol, smoking, drugs, passive smoking, VitaminA (dont take a vitamin high in VitaminA it can cause birth defects), avoid heavy lifting, heavy exercise, straining, dangerous acts (eg. climbing a ladder when you could fall), amusement parks etc.
Otherwise treat it as a gift, and remember you want the best start for your baby and that starts now when its in the womb but dont bubblewrap yourself, its not a disease & you can live as you have been

What would you most likely purchase from an online baby boutique?
Sade
I am launching an online baby boutique business on May 1st & I am looking for input about what customers would most likely purchase from an online boutique. Most of my inventory will include items like Diaper cakes, baby gift sets & items one would purchase for baby showers but I'm wondering if my customers would buy other items that I may not be aware of. All suggestions accepted & there is a special perk for the 10 most useful suggestions.
