I am planning a baby shower for my best friend.
I am thinking of doing it at a restaurant. I am inviting around 10-15 people (women)

I have a few questions:

1. Who pays the meals?
2. Should I ask for money instead of gifts?
3. What can we do besides eating. should we play a game ? Please help...

Any ideas?

Answer
the person holding the shower is supposed to pay for everything, unless you have a co-host, then the cost is split. i wouldnt suggest doing it at a resturant as it could get pricey, and you cant ask for money instead of gifts as it is not your shower it is your friends, so even if you did ask for money instead, it would go to your friend, not you...who would still end up paying the bill....you could possibly suggest the idea to people who will be invited and see if they would be willing to pay for their own meals or chip in 15-20$ each so that you dont have to pay for it all, but do not ask for money instead of gifts unless that is what the mother to be wants. and as for what you can do, you will be opening gifts, but i dont know what games you could play at a resturant other then the "dont say baby game"

What is the most useless thing you bought, registered for, got as a gift for your baby?

I got like 3 baby bathrobes and they are a pain to try to even use. An old bath towel worked so much better.
Oh, THe Ultimate Baby Wrap was a waste. It was expensive, took too much time to wrap around you, and my daughter hated it. She loves her cheap one though and it's much easier for me to use.
I got a snow suit as a gift for my daughter at my shower in May! She's already too big for it.

Answer
the plastic baby tubs!!! I absolutely hated mine and gave it to a friend after the second time I used it! It took up way to much space!
I ended up going to Target and getting one of those bath sponges, and my baby was just fine getting a bath in the kitchen sink! It worked awesome too if I wanted to take a bath with her in the tub.
The big plastic tub was just way too much of a hassle!!

haha, everyone always says they hated the diaper genie!?!
give me reasons!! why don't you like it??
I absolutely could not live without mine! I know it stinks when you're actually changing out the bag, but other than that it's wonderful! I lived without one for months before I caved and bought one, and within a few days my house smelled so much better!
