What is a good christmas gift for my mom in the 40-70 dollar range?

I am 20 and i just got a new job this year that is actually paying me good money and I want to get her a good present for once. I don't want the sappy stuff like picture of me in a frame or scrapbook or something like that. I want to get her something she can use. Please help.

Where are some places I can donate Christmas gifts to unfortunate children?

My mom donated 20 bucks to "Toys for Tots" but I dont want to donate cash money i would like to buy and donate at least 1 gift this year to some child who may not get anything for Christmas or any non-spiritual love picked out by me. Im not sure where to look on the internet or in my area (Houston/Galveston area in Texas).

Not at this late date, sorry, they now have the monumental task of wrapping and labelling all the toys.
