I had planned on doing a gift exchange and refreshments but have realized that most of the moms are planning to stay. Refreshments were going to be kid's foods (goldfish, pretzels, etc). How do I spruce up my plans to make this an mom/daughter friendly party?? Also, any ideas on entertaining??

Things like chex mix, a veggie tray, cheese and crackers.
if you're industrious, the girls would probably LOVE edible playdough. Make a batch, then refrigerate. Give each girl a paper plate and have bowls of stuff like raisins, choc chips, gummy worms, chinese crispy noodles, goldfish, m+ms, pretzels... let em play with their food, then eat it!
Here's the recipe:
PEANUT BUTTER PLAY DOUGH
Ingredients:
One 18-oz jar creamy peanut butter
6 tablespoons honey
3/4 cup non-fat dry milk
Directions: Mix ingredients together, then refrigerate in covered container for a few hours.
Use an ice cream or cookie scoop for portion control
