gift for mom under 10 image
dr. answer
And secondly are there any tax consequence for me? I will give the money back to my mom. The creditors are on her because my dad fraudulently opened credit cards under her name and skipped the country. They are seperated and my mom has told the creditors that she never opened those credit cards, but the credit cards are not listening, and bankruptcy is not an option for my mom. my mom is worried the creditors will take money out of her acct. HOW CAN SHE PROTECT $10,000 SHE HAS SAVED UP?
Answer
Two wrongs don't make a right. Your mom needs to speak to an attorney who specializes in such matters. To deliberately try to defraud creditors rather than attempt to set the record straight will get her into deeper hot water. She can give her money to whom ever she desires but to transfer funds under your name when it is not a legit gift could be a problem. Creditors have access to our banking records and if this is found out, she could be prosecuted as a criminal matter instead of a civil matter.
Were your parents legally separated at the time your father opened these credit accounts? Where were the cards mailed to, etc.? The creditors aren't listening because what is happening is not uncommon. People knowingly use all sorts of tricks and loopholes to defraud institutions all the time so just having your mother tell them about her estranged husband's bad acts is not going to be enough. She needs to get on with the business of taking care of this. If she had nothing to do with this, she should be able to provide records and documents to augment her claim and innocence.
Hope it all works out.

What is the best way to wean my 10 month old daughter off of her binky?
elizabethb
My little girl likes to sleep with the binky in her mouth at night and I am concerned that this will mess up her teeth later on. She has given up the binky in the day time because she is doing other things like walking and playing. I hope the other moms out there have some good advice for me!
Answer
She's still so young! If it gives her comfort, let her keep it for a while. Talk to your dentist -- it's not going to do lasting damage to her permanent teeth. When she's about 2, you can tell her the binky fairy is coming one night and she will take away the binkys and leave a beautiful Barbie (or whatever it is your daughter wants most). She can help you gather all the binkys from around the house to leave for the binky fairy. In the morning, she'll find the gift under her pillow, and she'll feel pride that she's a big girl now.
