Would you rather rec'v cash, gift card or baby clothes/diapers etc.
I had a few in the past and was happy with either. I rec'd was too many < 12 mos. clothing I didn't even get a chance to use. Way too many pacifiers and bibs too. It is a 40yr old first time mom, what would you suggest? I am way out in the country so limited to the stores, I have a grocery and a drug store.

With twins, I was thankful for whatever we received . . . even hand-me-downs! As to what was most useful, gift cards!!! The gift cards were great! The problem with cash is that it is so easy to blow it on something else - like groceries (I know you need them but it is not "really" for the baby as much) . . . the gift cards are great for the things that you did not receive at your shower, what you suddenly realize that you need etc . . .
Best wishes!

A friend of mine just had a baby girl and I'm torn between the two blankets, she is 25. Thank you so much for your time!

or.....
Little Giraffe

P.S.
The Barefoot Dreams blanket has a very cute little saying on it but the Little Giraffe one is softer yet plain.

Honestly, I got some blankets like that as gifts for my baby and I find them to be completely useless. You can't put them in the crib, they are too thick for swaddling, they are kind of small to put on the floor for the baby to lay on (that's the only real use I found for them, other than decorative). If I was buying the gift, I would want to buy something useful like a soft carrier/sling (http://www.mobywrap.com/), a breastfeeding kit (http://www.nursingmothersupplies.com/html/breastfeedingkits.htm) or pillow (http://www.mybrestfriend.com/), an activity gym (http://www.tinylove.com/toy.aspx?toyId=32) or a Halo Sleep Sack (https://www.halosleep.com/). Sorry, I know that's not the question that you asked, but I just thought you might want a mother's opinion.
Swaddle blankets are also a very good idea. Maybe you could find some that would be very cute too. http://www.swaddledesigns.com/products.html
