My sister had a baby girl almost 6 months ago. My husband is about to come back from Afghanistan and hasn't seen our niece yet. This is our first niece/nephew and he is really excited to finally meet her. He wants to get the baby something really nice. The price doesn't matter. An idea he had was to put $1,000 into a savings account for her for when she grows up. Any other great ideas?

Wow the 1000$ is a great idea of you can afford that. I mean she could put it towards college when she gets older or towards her first car. A savings acct is a awesome, I say go for that!
As far as a little gift to hand her when he first meets her. How about a build a bear?
A nice book?
A special blanket?

I know nobody does it but am doing it because I may not be in this country to celebrate his first b'day with my friends.
I will be sending an evite to my friends......am wondering what I should write there....dont want to write the regular stuff that we write for 1 year olds......any suggestions?
Also any tips on what gifts should I give to the small kids who will be attending the party? They are all less than 1.5 yrs old to hand over candy :)
