Gift ideas for baby?

Rachel B

If you were to put together a gift basket for someone who just had their first baby, what would you put in it?

Answer
Vaseline, a little pack of diapers, day & night time lotions, travel wipes, a couple of cute onesies or outfits, pacifier, small toy or 2 (rattle, set of keys, etc), soothing music CD, baby wash, bib, washcloth & hooded towel.

You don't have to put ALL that in. I figured you can pick a few things out from there. Maybe even a gift for the new parents as well? A gift cert maybe?

New baby 2 B born N Feb, need gift ideas for siblings (8,6 & 2)?

We have 2 boys (our oldest will be 9 in Feb & 6 yr old) a girl (she will be 2 in Feb) and we will be having another girl. I was just wondering if any one had any good ideas for gifts for our children so that when BB sis is born they don't have any hard feelings toward the BB & thinking she is getting more attention (& is Luved more). And should we leave the gifts W/ the person who will B watching them & let them have them after we call & tell them BB is born OR should we give them 2 them when they come 2 the hospital 2 C BB OR should we wait for when we come home W/ BB?

Answer
Do the boys like any specific toys? Like Disney Cars, Star Wars etc? If so, get them a figurine or something that they could play with to keep them occupied. Also, for your daughter, get her a toy baby. She can then pretend it's her baby and feed and change it etc whilst you're doing that stuff with your newborn. I think the boys would get used to the new baby quite quickly because they've been there, done that, so a new favorite toy should keep them occupied, where as your daughter has not experienced a new sibling arriving the doll could both keep her occupied and keep her from feeling left out, if she has a baby of her own to look after then she may not be so fussed when you're looking after the new baby.
And of course, try to get all the kids involved in caring for the baby, let the elders have their cuddles and have your daughter help gather nappy changing supplies and help with bathing etc, it will really help them bond.
Oh and give the toys upon coming home.
Good luck!
