Xmas gift for mother in law?

I don't have it easy. My husband is 0 help. She is about 84, doesn't go out much, doesn't like plants, doesn't like to redecorate (Her furniture has been on the same place for over 20 years), her only hobby is doing crosswords.
And she has several crosswords books and PC game.

Alright i have 30 dollars.
I need to but her a gift!

And no girft certifacets or baskets with choclate.
Something i can buy at a target or at a mall.

She is a working mom and has a 30 minute drive to work and sits at her desk answering phones (she is on display so nothing big or stands out)

Just any ideas will help!
