Get something personalized that gives the baby's birthdate. You can find things like that at the Mall or in a gift store. After my kids got to be 30, it is fun to look back at those things. We also love the framed baby photo and announcement from the newspaper.

Is there anything you NEED for the baby that you can't afford to get? Or something that you plan to get in the near future for her? If you are okay finacially, then open a savings account for her. Let them know that maybe an outfit and a small deposit into the savings account would be perfect.
